Picton Post Office is an important historical building in beautiful Picton. If you’ve never been to Picton, it’s a picturesque little town, about an hour and a half south-west of Sydney, NSW.
Constructed in the 1800s, it was damaged significantly in the 2016 floods that hit the Wollondilly Shire. Cracks in the exterior were found as well as timber flooring and coverings.
The team scanned the Picton Post Office with scans at 3 metres apart to create the highest quality point cloud scan to document the condition of the outside of the building. We used an outdoor HDR profile, the pictures and videos turned out very well. The post office has been undergoing gentle repair and restoration work.
Using our 3D building scanner we completed 34 laser scans within a 20 metres radius allowing us to build a hi resolution point cloud scan. The 3DLS team complete 3D laser scanning in rural locations throughout NSW.
30 scans completed. Outdoor Over 20m profile.
Average points per scan: 16,0500. Accurancy (mean): 2.03mm
